Learn about this candidate for the Manchester Board of Directors.

Full name: Lisa Paggioli O’Neill

Education: Mechanical Engineering -Hartford State Technical College AS, University of Connecticut BS, Boston University MS

Work: Over 27 years Mechanical Engineer Pratt & Whitney

Why do you want to be on the Manchester Board of Directors?: I want to continue to implement an incremental approach to infrastructure improvements in a manner residents can support. I want to make sure our town continues to have the resources to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

What experience do you bring to the table? After serving on the Board of Education for five years I have served the past eight years on the Board of Directors, the last four years as Secretary and two years as Deputy Mayor.  I have served on numerous committees including Capitol Region Council of Governments and its Executive Board.  Currently Manchester faces a series of complex decisions concerning the physical structure of our school system.  With the help of the vote’s input, I hope to continue to utilize my skills as an engineer to advocate prudent solutions that reflect the wishes of the community.  I am a life long resident of Manchester and a member of the Historical Society.  Wherever I go the community lets me know their thoughts on these complex issues.

What do you think is the town’s most pressing issue?  The series of complex decisions concerning the physical structure of our school system along with all the other needed infrastructure improvements is the most pressing issue.  These decisions need to be made in a way the town can support and last long term.

What do you love most about Manchester Public Schools? I love the people of Manchester.  Our town government reflects the character of the community it serves.  In Manchester, we take care of each other especially when the unforeseen happens.  Manchester is a large town that has a small town friendly feel.

What do you like to do for fun? I garden and spend time with friends and family for fun.

How can residents keep up with you? My email is loneill@manchesterct.gov.
