Onyx to Host 'Shine on Main Street' Cocktail Crawl Thursday Night

Onyx Spirits Company might have moved next door to East Hartford, but the popular local distiller is still determined to keep its strong ties with the Manchester community. 

In fact, this Thursday, May 2, 2013, Onyx will make its presence known on Main Street in Manchester in a big way. 

Onyx is teaming up with Imagine Main Street's monthly 'First Thursday' series of events to sponsor a one-night only cocktail crawl, called 'Shine on Main Street, through the downtown area. The crawl consists of six restaurants: Cavey's, Catsup & Mustard, Landmark Cafe, The Main Pub, Mulberry Street Pizza, and Rocco's Pizza and Grill.

“It’s been fantastic to watch the revitalization of Main Street in Manchester,” Onyx co-founder Adam von Gootkin said in a statement. “To celebrate all the amazing restaurants, we thought a cocktail crawl in the town where we started would be a fun idea to welcome in the summer and attract people from all over Connecticut to this great town.”

According to Onyx and Imagine Main Street, "patrons are invited to explore the various offerings along Main Street, including a fashion show and live music, and enjoy local Connecticut Moonshine in custom designed cocktails that reflect the restaurant’s individual styles. They are also invited to cast a vote for their favorite cocktail by visiting Manchester Community College’s Art and Education Center, “MCC on Main” (903 Main Street, Manchester), between 6 and 9pm. The restaurant with the most popular cocktail will win a ‘Shine on Main Street' Cocktail Crawl trophy. The participating restaurants and the cocktails available include:

Cavey’s Restaurant (Created by Jessica Cote): "Mexican Cousin" - Onyx Moonshine, Thai Chili-Infused Sour Mix, Dash of Tamarind Drinking Vinegar, Squeeze of Fresh Lime Juice, Pineapple Sugar Rim, and a Thai Chili and Pineapple Garnish. 

Corey’s Catsup & Mustard (Created by Billie-Jo): "The Onyx Watermelon Moon-a-Rita" - Onyx Moonshine, Fresh Watermelon Puree, Triple Sec, Sour Mix, Fresh Lime Juice, Splash of Club Soda, Salted Rim, and a Lime and Watermelon Slice Garnish. 

Landmark Cafe (Created by Jeffrey Joslin): "The Fuzzy Onyx" - Onyx Moonshine, Midori, Peach Tree, Dash of Grenadine, Orange Juice, Top with Sprite, and an Orange Slice and Cherry Garnish. 

The Main Pub (Created by Shannon Callery): "Onyx Peach Tea" - Onyx Moonshine, Fresh Brewed Unsweetened Iced Tea, Peach Schnapps, Splash of Pomegranate Juice, and a Peach Slice Garnish. 

Mulberry Street Pizza (Created by Ilana Herman): "Mulberry Moonlight" - Onyx Moonshine, Mango Schnapps, Banana Schnapps, Pineapple Juice, Dash of Grenadine, and Topped with Onyx Moonshine Soaked Cherries. 

Rocco’s Pizza and Grill (Created by Kelly Gibson): “Moon-Berry Lemonade” – Onyx Moonshine, Lemonade, Raspberry Liqueur, and a Lemon Garnish.
