Man Charged in Manchester High Gun Scare

Police found that the gun was an air pistol, and that the man was trying to climb through the window of his own residence.

Police charged the man who led to the Thursday morning with simple breach of peace. 

According to Manchester Police Capt. Christopher Davis, the man, 54-year old Lou Mayo, was spotted trying to climb through a window at 131 Summit St. about 8:45 a.m. Thursday morning with what appeared to be a pistol in his hand. 

After police were called, Manchester High School was placed on lock down for about 30 minutes due to reports of a  suspect with a gun in the area. When police arrived, they found that the pistol was an air gun and that Mayo resides at 131 Summit St.

Davis said Mayo may have been trying to play a joke on someone who resides at the residence.
