Amy Russell, Neighbor

I grew up in Manchester, (MHS class of '06!) and it always will have a special place in my heart. After graduation, I lived in Mexico, then West Virginia before ending up in college at North Park University in Chicago, IL. (I promised my parents I would eventually go!) While in school I started an organization called Walk4Water, and we are trying to raise funds and awareness for the cause of clean water by doing crazy and impossible things.

Our big project is going to be a 7000 mile walk across Africa from Cape Town to Cairo, starting in January 2012.

To warm up I am doing walking in CT, CA and maybe other states as well. 

We concentrate on clean water because we see it as a fundamental building block to ending poverty as a whole.

I'll be updating this blog with updates on how training is going, funny stories about things that happen along the way, and inspirational stories about other people that I might meet. So, expect a whole spectrum of laughter, tears, and challenge from your new favorite Manchester crazy. :-)
