The nonprofit Manchester Early Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education ofMore Young Children. MELC's before and after school program, Club MELC, was selected by the Manchester Board of Education to provide care to all Manchester elementary school students. All of its programs are designed to inspire creativity, motivate discovery, and develop friendships in a supervised, educational environment.

The Manchester Education Department is responsible for the instruction of about 7,300 public school students andMore oversees the operations of 10 elementary schools, a middle school, a sixth-grade academy, a regional academy, Manchester High School and an alternative education program, the Bentley School. The main offices for the department are located in the Kennedy Education Center at 45 N. School St. Kathleen M. Ouellette serves as the current superintendent; Patricia F. Brooks serves as the assistant superintendent of finance and management; and Ann Richardson serves as the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction. Other central office departments located in the Kennedy Education Center include food and nutrition, health, pupil personnel services and transportation. The department is overseen by a nine-member Board of Education elected for three-year terms by the town's electorate.
