Wickham Park was dedicated in 1961, with the bulk of what now comprises the park -- 130 acres of land -- coming from the estate of Clarence and Edith Wickham. A sizable gift of 67 adjoining acres by Myrtle Williams helped the park reach its present size. The park includes softball fields, tennis courts, hiking and running trails, a bird sanctuary and a sensory garden. Sections of the park can be reserved for weddings and private functions. Wickham Park charges admission for entry at the main gate, which is based on the day of the week and the size of the vehicle entering the park.
