The Journal Inquirer became a daily newspaper as a result of the merger of the Rockville Journal and the Inquirer of East and South Windsor in 1968, and prides itself on the fact that it is the only newspaper in Connecticut founded in the last century to still be publishing today, although the Rockville Journal dates back over 100 years. The paper moved from Rockville, a section of Vernon, to its present Manchester location in 1974.
