The trail features several footbridges and a scenic marsh area that is a popular nesting spot for a number of species of birds. The trail is marked by small orange dots, or blazes, painted on trees or rocks. Two blazes denote that the trail will soon come to a turn or an intersection; three denote a side trail or alternate route. The side trail is marked by an orange blaze with a white dot in the center. Alcohol, bicycles, camping and hunting are not permitted on the trail.
