Sears is the world's fourth largest retailer. Back in 1886, Richard Sears was sold an unwanted supply of watches from a jeweler. Instead of shipping them back, he sold them at the plant where he worked and made $5,000. He continued to sell, left his job and opened R.W. Sears Watch Company. Later he was joined by Alvah Roebuck. Today, the store offers just about anything and everything you could want including tools, appliances, car batteries, paint as well as clothing and accessories, and, of course, watches.
