The town's only public high school, and consequently one of the largest public high schools in Connecticut, Manchester High School serves about 2,000 students grades nine through 12. In addition to a competitive and popular athletics program, known as the Indians, the school features its own TV station - where students gain valuable real-world experience in video and media production - and a thriving performing arts program that sponsors a number of concerts and plays throughout the school year. The school's motto: "to create an environment for all students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to become successful, contributing members of society." Kevin O'Donnell is the principal.
