In 1935, two young men opened a neighborhood ice cream shop named "Friendly" in Springfield, Mass. Since then — when double-dip cones were a mere 5 cents — Friendly's has blossomed into today's famous franchise. This one is inside the Shoppes at Buckland Hills on the lower level next to Dick's Sporting Goods. Staff at the Buckland Friendly's say the Honey Barbecue Melt is its most popular dish. An online menu lists the other classic dishes that make Friendly's popular, along with ice cream flavors and dessert items.
