Eastern Mountain Sports, also known as EMS, is an outdoor apparel and equipment retailer. Alan McDonough and Roger Furst were rock climbers who could not easily find the gear they needed. So, in 1967 they founded EMS in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Some of its featured categories of equipment include hiking and backpacking gear, climbing gear, paddling and kayaking gear, car rack roof, and accessories. It is located in the Plaza in Buckland Hills.
