A Haunted House, Beer and Wine Tastings, a Zombie Chase, and More in Manchester This Weekend

Check out what is going on in the region this weekend.

A Haunted House Experience - The Palace of Terror
Friday, 6 p.m. - The storied history of The Stafford Palace gets even more legendary. Maybe it's something in the water, but things around here have been a bit strange for a long time. Take a journey through a nightmare doorway into a universe of the unexpected and the unknown. Can your mind comprehend what you'll perceive, or will madness take over as worlds unseen and unfathomed are revealed? Find out at the Palace Theater. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under. Visit www.thestaffordpalacetheater.com for
tickets, or call the box office at 860-851-9780.

Savion Glover's SoLe Sanctuary
Friday, 8 p.m. - In SoLe Sanctuary, Savion Glover's reverence for the art of tap is put to the stage literally in the form of a living altar where he can pay his respects to the craft he has perfected. Described by the New York Times as "...barebones and pure, full of the kind of rhythmic innovation that trips down one path, splinters off in different directions and then sweeps back home." Tickets start at $32.

Family Program: Picture Yourself at the Connecticut Historical Society

Saturday, 10 a.m. - Come and explore the newest exhibit, Through a Different Lens: Three Connecticut Women Photographers, and then decorate your own picture frame to take home. Use the frame to display one of your favorite photographs or use it as a special gift for a friend or family member. This drop-in activity is great for children 10 and under. All supplies are provided by the CHS. For more information, call 860-236-5621 x222 or e-mail erin_strogoff@chs.org. Free on-site parking is available.

There will be raffles and prizes. Admission is $35 per person or $45 at the door. Proceeds from the party benefit My Sisters' Place, helping homeless families in Greater Hartford since 1982.
