Veterans Day Thank You, Auditions and Leaf Collection

Here are five things coming up in the week ahead.

Hello, Manchester! Today is Monday, Nov. 11, 2013; there are 50 days left in the year.

Today is Veterans Day. I don’t have an awful lot to say here other than if you see a veteran, please thank him or her for his or her service.

1. Town offices and the library were closed for the Veterans Day holiday, while a parade was held Monday morning stepping off from American Legion Hall and ending at front lawn of Manchester Memorial Hospital. Here are some fun facts about the holiday.

2. The Little Theatre o f Manchester will be holding auditions for its opening performance of the 2014 season "Noises Off!" Monday and Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. For more information click here or call 860-604-9111.

3. On Wednesday, leaf vacuuming for Area 2 of the town will begin (vacuuming for Area 1 began on Nov. 4). The town asks residents to "ake leaves to the edge of your property along the street for vacuum collection." And also wants to remind residents that "it is a violation of town code to block sidewalks and streets with leaves. "
