Free Self-Defense Clinics Open to the Public

Would you or someone you know like to be a little bit safer out in the world?

The Academy is offering 2 Self-Defense clinics open to the public and free of charge. The first is a women's only clinic on August 14th from 7:00 - 8:30pm and the second is a Co-Ed Self-Defense clinic on August 22nd from 6:00 - 7:00pm. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the clinic and wear comfortable clothing. No previous experience necessary.

These clinics are ideal for anyone who finds themselves leaving work, the mall or the fitness center after dark, runners, Realtors, college students or anyone else that wants to know what to do if they find themselves in a compromising situation.

Emphasis will be on defense before an attack happens, as well as simple defensive strategies to use if an attack should occur.  The clinics are for ages 15 and up.  Participants under 18 need a parent’s or guardian’s signature to attend.

Suggested donation is 1 non-perishable food item per person to be distributed to area food shelters. Pre-registration is required at www.TheAcademy.us or by calling 860-646-7993. The seminar will be taught by Master Joel waldron, owner and Master Instructor of The Academy of Martial Arts & Personal Development.
