Ashford Inventors Converge on Capitol

State Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-Stafford) visited with young inventors from the Ashford School at the annual Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC). The CIC is a 30-year-old educational non-profit supporting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) interest in K-8 in 130 schools around Connecticut. CIC inventors, innovators and entrepreneurs visited the Capitol on Thursday April 11th on their annual CIC Day at the Capitol. One of the young inventors, Taegan Botti, from the Ashford School, explained how her invention the “ice stopper” worked. Her marketing pitch included: Are you tired of slipping on the ice? No need to have a fit anymore. The ice stopper is on the case the ice stopper helps prevent people of all ages from slipping on the ice! The snow boot has a column of bird seed that sprinkles out and as you step it crushes the seed under your feet so you don’t slip.
