VIDEO: MHS Prepares to LIFT Off
More than 100 upperclassmen participated in prepared activities designed to orient incoming freshmen for the first day of school.
Last Friday, more than 100 upperclassmen at Manchester High School spent the day at school when they didn't have to. The students had volunteered their time to walk through a series of prepared “ice-breaker” activities designed to orient incoming freshmen to the first day of school and the MHS culture.
The program, known as Leading an Inclusive Freshmen Transition (or LIFT), has proven so successful at the high school that many volunteers cited it as a reason why the decided to become LIFT Leaders themselves and give back to their fellow freshmen students.
Freshmen orientation at Manchester High School was today, Aug. 31, and grades 10 through 12 will begin classes on Thursday.
