Superintendent Search Continuing, Says BOE Chair

"The board recognizes the importance of hiring the right individual, and as a result is taking the necessary time to ensure the best candidate for Manchester is appointed," says Board of Education Chairman Chris Pattacini.

Efforts to find a new permanent superintendent of Manchester Public Schools is still ongoing, according to Board of Education Chairman Chris Pattacini. 

Pattacini read the following statement about the search as part of Monday's Board of Education meeting: 

"The search committee continues its work relating to the superintendent search. 

As part of this, the committee continues to utilize information regarding the necessary skills and requirements for the position based on the focus group and community survey feedback previously gathered.

The board recognizes the importance of hiring the right individual, and as a result is taking the necessary time to ensure the best candidate for Manchester is appointed. 

The committee has been meeting on a regular basis, and has conducted interviews earlier this spring.

When additional details are available to report out, the board will do so."

Richard Kisiel has been in place as the interim superintendent since October of 2011.
