Principal Karen Gray reminded everyone of the school's philosophy:"Washington students and staff are safe, smart and respectful."

The weather was bright and sunny. Parents, teachers and students were very excited about the first day of school. Teachers holding signs with their name and grade greeted new students and their parents.

Washington School Principal Karen Gray welcomed everyone, led the Pledge of Allegiance, invited parents to a mini-fair in the school cafeteria, and reminded everyone of the school's philosophy: "Washington students and staff are safe, smart and respectful." Teachers then led their students to their classroom and the school day began.
