Dr. Gena Glickman, president of Manchester Community College, has been appointed to the Commission on Research, Technology and Emerging Trends with the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2013 and continues through June 30, 2016.
This commission and others act in an advisory capacity to the AACC Board of Directors in areas that reflect key aspects of the association’s work on behalf of the nation’s community and technical colleges.
The AACC has a total of six Commissions, each with a specific area of focus. The commission on which Glickman will be a member addresses a variety of activities including: the changing role of Federal, State, and local governments in community colleges as well as various sectors of post-secondary education; changing relationships between K-12 and postsecondary education; changes in accountability requirements and reporting burdens; changes in funding credit and noncredit activities; and changes in governance structures.

As a member of the AACC Commission, Dr. Glickman will be able to address key issues faced by MCC and Connecticut students, faculty, staff and the community, as well as contribute to discussion and ideas on how progress can be made concerning these key issues.
