The Manchester Scholarship Foundation, Inc. will be sponsoring Financial Aid Night for high school juniors and seniors on Thursday, January 23rd at 6:30pm at East Catholic High School.  The information session is open to all area high school juniors and seniors and will be focused on helpful ways to pay for college.  The Manchester Scholarship Foundation is pleased to have Carolyn Karno as a guest speaker for the night.

Prior to owning her own consulting business, Ms. Karno was the manager of College Planning and Financial Aid at the Connecticut Student Loan Foundation and was instrumental in starting their “Investing in Futures” Resource Center.  Ms. Karno assists her clients with financial aid forms, helps them decipher college award letters and counsels students on how much they can truly afford to spend.  Ms. Karno received a Bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University and a Master’s degree from Wesleyan University.

The Manchester Scholarship Foundation, first organized in 1965, provides students from Manchester with scholarships to continue their education beyond the high school level. Scholarships are awarded by the foundation based on scholastic achievement, community involvement and financial need. Applications for scholarships to be awarded in June 2014 are available on their website manchesterscholarship.org, guidance offices of local high schools and at Town Hall.
