The entire day began with a 2-hour rehearsal in Manchester followed by the Southington competition. Next, the students returned to MHS to review and analyze the performance video and judging comments followed by another rehearsal. When asked about performing twice in one day trumpet player Tyson Murphy felt that “something good happened during our second rehearsal when the students took charge of the band.” Senior drum major Nathan Edwards saw that “the attitude changed and we were more motivated after reviewing the first performance”. Freshman Cynthia Caraballo commented on how the band “got a little more confident and we worked together to make things a lot better after the first performance”.

The MHS Marching Band will compete in the US Bands New England States Championship on Saturday October 26 in Bridgeport, CT. Band directors are Keith Berry and Marco Cancellieri.
