Manchester High Considering Uniforms

A forum to discuss the implementation of a possible uniform dress code at Manchester High School is scheduled for Jan. 31.

Like students at Arthur H. Illing Middle School were required to do this year, students at Manchester High School could soon be required to wear uniforms to school as well.

A public forum to discuss the possible implementation of a uniform dress code at Manchester High School is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m. in the school's auditorium.

The Board of Education is considering a plan that would require students to wear specific attire, such as polo shirts and dress pants, starting in the 2012-13 academic year.

A similar policy was at the start of the current school year.

The forum will include a brief presentation by Interim Principal Greg Ziogas, who is seeking feedback from residents, including parents who have children in local schools. Officials are also soliciting feedback through a survey that can be accessed through both the Manchester High School and Illing Middle School web sites.
