student was nominated to represent Connecticut as a National Youth Correspondent at the 2012 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University based largely on anti-bullying video she produced indepentently while a student in the high school's Broadcast Journalism class.
Zappulla has been awarded the opportunity to join a select group of 250 students from across the country to participate in an intensive week-long study of journalism and media.
