East Catholic High School Receives $5,000 Grant for Cultural Arts Program

The grant was part of Bob's Discount Furniture's Bob's Outreach program, which supports art and music programs at local schools.

Cathy Poulin, public relations director at Bob’s Discount Furniture presented representatives from East Catholic High School with a $5,000 donation check on September 24th from Bob’s Outreach Program as part of its “Celebrate the Arts” contest. This contest, now in its seventh year, awards a total of $45,000 in cultural grants to nine deserving schools across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic in order to support and maintain dance, music and the arts in schools.

Each year, Bob’s Outreach receives thousands of submissions and randomly selects one K-12 school in each of the nine states (Conn., Maine, Mass., Md., N.H., N.J., N.Y., R.I. and Va.) where Bob’s Discount Furniture stores are located to win a $5,000 grant. In coming weeks the Bob’s Outreach Team will visit each winning school to award the grants and visit with students and faculty.

East Catholic High School was the Connecicut school chosen to receive the award.
