Doc Severinsen Returns to Manchester High School

One of the greatest trumpet players of all time will be in concert at Manchester on Monday, Sept. 17.

Renowned trumpeter and former leader of the NBC Orchestra Carl Hilding "Doc" Severinsen will be returning to for a special show later this month. 

in January of 2011, after speaking with students at the school about music and his career for several hours beforehand, and "knocked it out of the park," according to Manchester High Band Director Keith Berry. 

"We want our students and community to have the chance to hear this amazing musician and his band," Berry said. "…If you teach band, orchestra, guitar, or percussion your students really should hear these guys."

Severinsen will be performing with the San Miguel Five, which includes Doc, a jazz violinist, a drummer, a vituoso guitarist and a bass player.

Tickets for the show, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, in the Bailey Auditorium of the high school, range from $25 to $45 and can be purchased here
