Board of Education to Meet Monday to Discuss Superintendent Position

The school board could appoint a new superintendent Monday.

The Manchester Board of Education is scheduled to meet Monday to discuss, among other things, the vacant position of Superintendent of Manchester Public Schools. 

has been serving in that position since October of 2011, and saw his contract extended for an additional 90 days beyond his initial end point of June 30 recently, but the school board has been focused on a permanent replacement for Kisiel. 

And, with the item placed on Monday's Board of Education agenda, it appears as though they might have found a new permanent superintendent. The agenda item reads as follows:

"UNFINISHED BUSINESS – Update and Action of Superintendent Search"

When asked, Board of Education Chairman Chris Pattacini declined to comment on the issue, but said the school board would discuss the item at Monday's meeting, after first discussing the issue in a confidential executive session.
