Updated: Board of Education to Discuss Social Media Policy Tonight

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room, 494 Main St.

The Manchester Board of Education will not be discussing the proposed Social Media Policy this evening. It was pulled from the agenda at the 11th hour, according to members of the board.

The Manchester Board of Education will meet tonight to discuss, among other things, a sites like Facebook or Twitter. 

The school board initially discussed the proposal at its previous meeting, May 14, but the proposed plan has drawn the ire of many in recent weeks, including employees of the school district and the American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut, who stated in a recent letter to the board that the policy was overly vague and violated the First Amendment.

There will also be a public comment portion of the meeting.
