Board of Education Hopes to Have New Superintendent in Place By End of School Year

The school board hopes to have a new superintendent in place by the end of June.

Board of Education Chairman Chris Pattacini said the school board is on track to have a new superintendent in place by the end of the current school year.

Pattacini provided an update on the search as part of the school board's Monday meeting.

"The timeline at this point would have us selecting a candidate by the end of the school year," he said.

Pattacini said that the search committee, which is also the Board of Education, is in the process of sifting through the 17 to 20 applicants that have applied for the position and will soon cut that number down to five to seven finalists, who will be invited for an interview. He said the plan is still to have a new superintendent named by the end of June.

"I think we would have liked to have had it down by now, but the board wants to take the time to get it right," Pattacini said.
