Honorable Mention

With our pride aside and trying to be as humble as pie, it is a joy to share with the community that several members of the Manchester Rotary Club have been honored in the last few weeks.

Club Secretary and former President Beth Stafford received the Manchester Chamber of Commerce's Community Achievement Award - a high honor, offered only at their Annual Meeting.  Beth, as the CEO of MACC Charities does a lot of good, but beyond what she does professionally, she offers her time, talent and heart to a number of other organizations that affect people young and old.  Congratulations Beth!

At the Club's District Conference, Rick Lawrence was honored with the "Service Above Self Award", given to just 150 members, world-wide!  Rick, and his wife Elin, truly have their hearts with the indigenous people of Guatamala.  Their efforts raise thousands of dollars to provide clean water and sanitation systems in small, rural villages.  Eight villages to date over as many years and more to come because of their dedication.

The Club itself received an award because of the increase in membership over this past year.

So, Rotary is growing and glowing -- and humility aside, we're dog gone proud of it!

Join us!  And, we hope to see you at the Mother's Day Breakfast at the Manchester Country Club, Sunday,  May 11, from 8 a.m. to noon.  Tickets can be purchased at the door, $12 for adults, $8 for adults and children under 2 years are free.  A great breakfast and a great time!
