Watch First District Debate Thursday Afternoon

All four first district candidates – Rep. John Larson (D), John Henry Decker (R), Matthew Corey (P), and Michael DeRosa (G) will participate in the debate, which will also be streamed live by West Hartford Community Television.

The League of Women Voters of Greater Hartford and West Hartford Community Television are sponsoring a debate between candidates for the First Connecticut Congressional District.

The debate will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at West Hartford Town Hall. John B. Larson (D) Democratic Party, John Henry Decker (R) Republican Party, S. Michael DeRosa (G) Green Party, and Matthew Corey (P) Petitioning Candidate are all scheduled to participate.

This will be the only scheduled debate between the candidates.

“It wasn’t easy to confirm the debate but it was the most asked question the last month by voters wherever I went,” stated John Henry Decker in a news release.  “We have been trying for months, but in the end, I am glad Congressman Larson agreed he had a responsibility to the voters and accepted the proposal we put forth through the League of Women Voters.”
