Voter Turnout at Less Than 20 Percent in Manchester

It appears as though the town is on track for one of its poorest voter turnouts ever.

It's been a slow, uneventful Election Day in Manchester thus far, as one of the town's registrars reported that by 5 p.m. Tuesday only 4,884 registered voters in town had shown up to cast ballots, only 18.2 percent of all registered voters in town.

"My only gues is that people are recovering from the storm and the election isn't high on their list of priorities," said Republican Registrar Tim Becker.

Becker said in 2009, the last time the town held municipal elections, 7,427 people cast ballots. There are 26,805 registered voters in town.
