Wickham Park opened for the season, there was a rally and "read-in" in Center Memorial Park, a Bowl-A-Thon in Vernon, and ECHN announced an educational partnership.
On Satuday April 2, Wickham Park opened for the season at 9:30 a.m. The 250-acre park encompasses land in Manchester and East Hartford and is operated by a nonprofit foundation set up by the estate of Clarence and Edith Wickham.
There was also a rally by the Save the Park group and a "read-in" by the Expand the Manchester Public Library group at the same time Saturday in Center Memorial Park.
On Sunday afternoon, MARC Inc. of Manchester held a Bowl-A-Thon at Spare Time in Vernon that raised over $12,000 for the charity's building fund.

Eastern Connecticut Health Nenwork announced an educational partnership with the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine on Wednesday. This summer 16 third-year medical students will be training at Manchester Memorial and Rockville General hospitals.
