Town to Hold Emergency Preparedness Forum Tonight

The forum is designed to help residents learn how to deal with significant natural disasters.

How prepared are you or your family to deal with severe weather such as hurricanes, torandoes, flooding or ice storms? What would you do if there was no electricity, phone service, water or sewer, gas, or road closings? Do you have plans to access your daily and necessary medical supllies or medical facilities? How would you care for your elderly family members, children, pets, and neighbors in need?

These questions and many more will be addressed by town officials from at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room, 494 Main St., in an effort to prepare Manchester residents for possibile future severe weather related disasters. As evident from the two most recent storms to hit the area, every resident in the Manchester community can benefit from this preparation.

A "Go-Kit" (an emergency preparedness kit) will be featured as a door prize. All attendees of the forum will be eligible to win the prize.
