TELL US: Should Local Boards Decide Controversial Issues in Private?

Here's your chance to sound off on this issue currently affecting Manchester!

Board of Education member Michael Crockett has found himself in hot water recently, as he is alleged to have made racially insensitive comments about another member of the school board.

But the Board of Education has largely handled the issue behind closed doors, citing its executive session privilege.

There are some who feel this is violation of the public's trust and right to know, while others argue that allegations are just that until proven otherwise and should not be allowed to damage someone's reputation by airing "dirty laundry" in public.
