MCC on Main Art Gallery Opens

The downtown Manchester art gallery will also host drawing, painting, and dance classes

The opening reception of the MCC on Main Art Gallery was held Friday evening from 4-6 pm and was attended by many local artists as well as state and local officials. The long awaited opening of the gallery that was first announced in October of 2011, opened with a display of paintings, sculpture, photographs, and a video. There was also live music by “The Rahsaan Langley Project” from 7-10 pm in the gallery space.

The galley is a result of a $1.3 million gift to the Town of Manchester by First Niagara Bank that included the building and funds for renovation and operating cost. The gallery space will also be hosting art and dance classes offered by Manchester Community College.

The gallery is located at 903 Main St. and the hours are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. untl 5 p.m. and on Fridays from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
