Manchester Women's Shelter to Get $85,610 From State for HVAC Repairs

The funding was approved by the state Bond Commission Feb. 27.

As part of its Feb. 27 meeting, the state Bond Commission voted to approve $85,610 in funding for HVAC repairs and improvements at the Alison Gill Lodge women's shelter in town.

“This project needed funding for necessary improvements to the women’s shelter in Manchester and I’m very happy to see that the State Bond Commission saw fit to act accordingly,” State Rep. John Thompson, D-Manchester, said in a statement.

The non-profit shelter on Hartford Road provides a safe, home-like atmosphere for girls ages 13 to 21 in the Manchester area, while also offering individual and family counseling and a number of other connections with local community services.
