The Week in Municipal Meetings, March 7

A roundup of the town's significant meetings this week.

Monday, March 7

The Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room, 494 Main St., to review Manchester R.O.C.S. proposal to establish a health and recreation club at 52 Main St., which is currently zoned for industrial purposes. Following the meeting, the commission will hold a workshop on "traffic related concepts and issues." The PZC's agenda can be found here

The Building Committee will also hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in the Manchester Room of Town Hall, 41 Center St. The committee is currently working on plans to renovate Highland Park and Martin elementary schools. No agenda was posted to the town's website as of the weekend.

The Board of Education's Curriculum and Instructional Committee will meet at 6 p.m. at the central office of Manchester Public Schools, 45 N. School St.

Tuesday, March 8

There will be a special meeting of the Board of Directors  at 8 a.m. in the Manchester Room of Town Hall where General Manager Scott Shanley will unveil his proposed budget for the 2011-12 fiscal year.

The board will then hold a special workshop meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room to review Shanley's proposal; the board will also discuss space needs at the town's libraries. 

Wednesday, March 9

The Cheney Hall Foundation will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Rd. 

Thursday, March 10

The Economic Development Commission will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room.
