Manchester Police Trading Card Contest Winners

Three boys each collected a full set of the 115 cards issued by the Manchester Police Department in 2011.

Kyle Tedford and brothers Robby and PJ McAvoy were honored Tuesday for being the first three children under age 14 to complete a full set of the 2011 edition of Manchester Police Department Trading Cards.

The contest, created by Community Relations Officer Stacey Forish, was designed to encourage dialogue between Manchester Police Officers and the community in a positive light. The trading cards demonstrate that every member of the is a unique individual.

Children were encouraged to politely ask officers who were on duty for their cards. The rules prohibit asking an officer for their card when an officer is conducting an investigation or busy with a car stop.

Families members also got involved with the collecting. Kyle Tedford told Patch "my family is in the towing business and they helped with the collection." In addition to meeting officers onduty, Robby and PJ McAvoy spent time writing letters to officers.

The winners received gift cards and a pizza lunch with Manchester Police Chief Marc Montminy Wednesday.
