Manchester Nonprofits Awarded Over $1.1M in State Grants
Manchester nonprofits among 84 organizations splitting $20 million in grant funding.
Three Manchester organizations were awarded a total of $1,143,415 in funding for several projects under the state 2014 Nonprofit Grant Program.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced Thursday that 146 projects with 84 organizations have been selected to receive a total of $20 million in awards.
In Manchester, Hartford Dispensary is set to receive a total of $325,000 for the following projects:
- Renovation — Willimantic Clinic: $250,000
- Renovation — Henderson-Johnson Clinic: $75,000
Marc, Inc of Manchester was awarded $317,790 for:
- Renovation: $218,800
- Vehicle: $98,990
New Seasons, Inc was given $500,625
- Generator: $78,500
- Improvement: $68,169
- Renovation — Marian Drive: $48,000
- Renovation — Scott Drive: $114,600
- Vehicles: $191,356
“Partnering with these organizations is a smart fiscal investment to ensure that these agencies can continue to provide services while doing so in an efficient, cost-effective way,” Malloy said during his announcement at Chrysalis Center, a provider agency slated to received funding to provide job training, employment services and conference space.
“This is the largest commitment our state has made to support and invest in these community-based organizations that provide critical services to individuals in every city and town in our state.”
