At Town Hall, a line stretched out the door with residents who were not registered to vote in town but still had the right to cast a presidential ballot.

"It's been incredibly busy," said Town Clerk Joseph Camposeo, noting that his office had already processed more absentee ballots than the last presidential election four years ago.

Voter turnout is already strong in Manchester. According to Republican Registrar Tim Becker, more than 20 percent of the town's registered voters had already voted by 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

"It's been busy," Becker told Patch. "At some places, they've had 10, 15 minute waits."

5,759 of the town's 28,928 registered voters had voted by 9 a.m.

Becker said that voting manchines at Martin and Waddell schools had malfuncitioned, and that both polling places were running on backups.
