Downtown Manchester to Conduct Phone Survey

Manchester residents may receive a call from the Center for Research who has been hired to gather information to be used to revitalize Downtown Manchester.

You may receive a phone call from the Center for Research and asked to participate in a phone survey. The Town of Manchester urges you to please respond to the survey regarding Downtown Manchester as they are seeking public input.

AMS Consulting, a market research firm located in Bridgeport, CT has been hired by the Downtonw Manchester Special Service District in order to examine the opportunities present for improving the downtown area. Other firms hired include the Center for Research in Meriden responsible for the phone survey, and Zared Architecture of New Haven who will work with the assessment of possible redevelopment properties.

Identifying the types of businesses, retailers and uses best suited for the Downtown will be a major focus of the study. The end goal would be to create a more healthy and vibrant environment for sustaining positive growth and attracting both Manchester residents and visitors alike.

The telephone study is one of the key components of the study. The residential telephone survey conducted during the month of October is designed to measure and identify consumer perception, satisfaction and ideas for the downtown. The anonymity of respondents is required by law, and no information about the identity of participants will be released.

“We are extremely excited about this study and particularly with the Consumer Survey which we feel will help identify resident perceptions and preferences for the district which can be used in developing strategies for strengthening and revitalizing our Downtown”, said Tana Parseliti, Downtown Manager of the Downtown Manchester Special Services District.
