Diminico Sworn Into Office as New State Representative for Manchester, Glastonbury

Receives assignments on three committees.

The following is a press release from the office of State Representative Joe Diminico:

Joe Diminico of Manchester was sworn in as a state representative Wednesday during the opening day ceremony of the 2013 legislative session at the State Capitol in Hartford.

Rep. Diminico (D-Manchester, Glastonbury) was given the oath of office by outgoing-Speaker of the House Chris Donovan. Diminico represents the 13th Assembly District and succeeds Jack Thompson, who retired after 26 years in the legislature.

“Serving the people of Manchester and Glastonbury is an honor and I’m looking forward to hearing their thoughts and ideas as we begin the legislative session,” Diminico said.  “This is a very challenging time for the state.”

Rep. Diminico has been asked by Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey (D-Hamden) to serve on the legislature’s Banks, Housing and Planning and Development committees.

Diminico, a lifelong resident of Manchester and former program director for the town Senior Center, currently is chairman of the town's planning and zoning commission and a member of the board of selectmen. In his 25-plus years of service to Manchester, he has also served on various town boards and commissions, including the board of assessment appeals, Manchester Housing Authority, Fair Rent Commission and library board of directors.

Constituents who want to contact Rep. Diminico may call his Capitol office at (860) 240-8500 or (800) 842-8267.

Assumption School offers an excellent education, with small class sizes. The environment isRead More welcoming for every child, and values that last a lifetime are taught. Students also make friends for life. I still hang out with my friends from the Assumption School class of 1966!
