Board of Directors to Discuss to Consider Revised Voting Districts, Broad Street Redevelopment Plan Tuesday

New voting districts and a new redevelopment plan for the Broad Street area of town, which would allow the town to seize property by eminent domain, are on the agenda for the Manchester Board of Directors Tuesday.

The Board of Directors monthly meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2013, includes consideration of expanded voting districts in town and a new redevelopment plan for the Broad Street area of town that would allow the town to seize property by eminent domain.

The town cut the number of voting districts in town from 10 to eight for the last election, but many in town complained of long lines and confusion. So the board appears poised to reserve that decision on Tuesday.

The Manchester Redevelopment Agency recently approved an amendment to the Broad Street Redevelopment Plan that would allow the town to seize land around the former Broad Street Parkade by eminent domain; the amendment also changes the land use designation for several parcels in the area. The Board of Directors must approve the amendment before it can take effect.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room at 494 Main St. Click here to view the full agenda.
