Windsor Man Dies in Swimming Accident

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Nicholas Wint.

A Windsor man pulled from Durham's  on Monday afternoon has died, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

DEEP has identified the victim as Nicholas Wint, 22, of Southwood Drive in Windsor.

According to DEEP, Wint had to be rescued from the popular swimming area shortly before 5 p.m. after he went under and did not resurface.

Divers from Middletown South District and Haddam Volunteer Fire Departments found him in the water and he was taken by ambulance to Middlesex Hospital.

He was later transferred by Lifestar helicopter to Hartford Hospital. Wint was pronounced dead early this morning, officials said.

The incident remains under investigation by DEEP Environmental Conservation Police.
