Vernon Bank Robbery Has Manchester Connection

Police are investigating the case.

Vernon Police are investigating a second bank robbery in a month's time at a bank in the Tri-City Plaza shopping center. 

Police spokesman Lt. William Meier said that on Friday at 8:23 a.m., just when the bank opened, the suspect entered the bank and claimed to have a bomb. 

Meier said police said an undisclosed amount a cash was taken.
A suspect being described as a lone male entered the bank, said he had a bomb, tied up an employees, took the money and fled in the employees car, Meier said. 

The car was located in Manchester. A regional bomb squad was called to the scene and no bomb was found, Meier said. 

The bank was also robbed on May 25. Meier said more details would be released to the public as the investigations progress. 

Meier said anyone witnessing anything near the bank, particularly early in the morning, cal call 860-872-9126. Callers can remain anonymous.
