Update: Missing Vernon Woman Found, Airlifted to St. Francis

Marianne MacKinnon was first taken to Rockville General Hospital and then transported to Hartford.

A Vernon woman who had been missing since early Tuesday morning has been found in Rockville, Police Chief James Kenny said Thursday evening.

She was first brought to Rockville General Hospital under heavy security, but was airlifted to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford about four hours later because of a serious medical condition, numerous sources said.

When asked what the medical condition was, police said they could not elaborate.

At about 8:15 p.m., Kenny confirmed that Marianne MacKinnon was found on Grand Avenue this evening. Police later said she was located  in a barn at the corner of Vernon and Grand avenues.

Kenny said she was alive but he did not want to guess at her condition. A source said hallucinogens were found at the scene and MacKinnon was in a sedated state.

An Eastern Connecticut Health Network security guard would only offer a terse "no comment'' at the emergency room entrance when asked for details.

Police had been searching the area vigorously for the 30-year-old MacKinnon. She was last seen at about 3 a.m. on Tuesday at a local convenience store. She is employed as a dancer at Sweet Hearts gentlemen's club on Route 83.

A search party had been formed tonight to assist authorities in the efforts to locate MacKinnon. People were also standing outside the 7-Eleven on Union Street tonight with posters asking for help in the search.

A Facebook page entitled "Finding Marianne MacKinnon" has 1,635 members.

Friends and family members were concerned for her safety because she had left without her two children and valuables she normally would take with her wherever she went.

Police said friends and family indicated it was "completely out of character'' for her to leave without notice.

A source said prescription pill bottles with PCP in them were found near MacKinnon and she had to be carried out of the barn.

The decision to transport MacKinnon to St. Francis was made at about 11:15, the source said. The chopper arrived at Rockville General about a hour later.

Police are describing the case as an open investigation.

I feel for her because shes obviously in pain but i cant help but be angry also because if its true that she was just high and passed out somewhere then thats messed up. She didn't care about her kids or anyone. We all prayed and looked and worried and she was just high as a kite. Thought she was just getting ciggs? I feel bad for the family because they were so scared. I cant help but get irritated when the family says to go away and its not our buisness whats going on but they are the ones who pulled us all in to help and give support so we are involved and we do care and i just want to know if she was taken, trying suicide or just a drug addict. My ex is one and i have no time for that bull. Get help and dont ever take a second of my time again(if thats what it was). I just try to pray for the kids now
