Two children were struck while riding their bikes on Hackmatack Street Thursday evening, according to witnesses at the scene.
Chris Russell, a witness who was near the scene of the accident that occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday night said he heard screeching and the sound of brakes, then found two small children lying in the street.
Russell said both children, both boys that he estimated to be between eight and 10, were taken away by ambulance, but that their injuries did not appear too serious.
"They were responding," he said. "It didn't seem like there was any brain damage."
