Manchester Police Sieze 41 Bags of Heroin During Drug Bust

Two alleged Manchester drug dealers arrested during buy/bust sting.

Narcotics officers seized more than 40 bags of heroin and made three arrests during a drug bust Thursday afternoon on Roosevelt Street.

Around 4:30 p.m., agents from the East Central Narcotics Task Force were conducting a buy/bust operation on two alleged heroin dealers, 30-year-old Carlos Rivera-Gonzalez, of Ridgewood Street, Manchester, and Amanda Dery, 27, of Ridgewood Street, Manchester.

The two were arrested without incident, according to police, and task force members confiscated 41 bags of heroin, $227 in cash and a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica.

Dery was arrested and charged on conspiracy to possess heroin and conspiracy to sell. Her bond was set at $10,000.

Rivera-Gonzalez and another man, Geraldo Fernandez, 28, of Woodlawn Circle, East Hartford, were taken into custody on existing warrants for the sale and possession of heroin. Both men were charged with one count each of possession and intent to sell, with bond set at $50,000.

The warrants served Thursday are part of an ongoing investigation in which more arrests are expected.
