UPDATE: Police Searching for Xtramart Robber

A hooded man robbed the convenience store at 95 Buckland St. at gunpoint early Tuesday morning, according to police.

Manchester police are searching for a suspect who they say robbed the Xtramart convenience store on Buckland Street earlier Tuesday morning at gunpoint. 

According to the Manchester Police Department, the suspect, described as a male wearing a red and white plaid jacket, light colored pants or jeans, white sneakers, a multi-camouflage hunting hood with eye-holes and black gloves, entered the store at 95 Buckland St. at approximately 2:24 a.m. Tuesday morning, pointed a small handgun at the clerk, and told him to open the cash register.

The suspect then told clerk to put the money into a blue lunch-type bag with a silver lining, before instructing the clerk to lay on the floor. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in an unknown vehicle.

Police are asking anyone with information on the case to call 860-645-5510.

Police said they do not believe Tuesday's robbery is connected to a at the People's Choice pizza restaurant on West Middle Turnpike, but they have not completely ruled out a connection between the two cases yet.
